Practical information

Hopefully you should be able to find answers to your questions below, but if not - please reach out!

All you need to know about

Travels from Sweden

  • ​Book a flight to Amsterdam, Schiphol airport

  • From the airport you can access the train which will take you to Meppel 

  • Every other train goes directly to Meppel, and every other requires a change of train in Zwolle. Both takes approx. 1.5 hour 

  • Train tickets can be bought at the airport, and you are required to "blipp" your ticket before taking the escalator down to the platform ​​

Accommodation

There are two recommended hotels

Wedding venue De Havixhorst in De Schiphorst:

  • Limited amount of rooms

  • When booking, please state that you are guests of our wedding

  • Book via phone or email, find contact details on https://www.dehavixhorst.nl/en/

  • We have all rooms blocked for our guests until the 1st of April, after that they will become available for non-wedding guests as well (ergo, book quickly!)

 

MyHotel​ in Meppel (10 min by car from the wedding party)

  • No specific rooms blocked, but plenty of rooms are still available

  • The hotel requires a minimum stay of 2 nights

  • We have arranged a 10% discount at this hotel, use code "BruiloftBakker" when booking (very influencer-y, we know!)

There are also several other options available in the vicinity of our wedding venue, please reach out if you need any help!

Transportation to/from the wedding party

We will pre-book taxis that will go:

  • from MyHotel in Meppel to De Havixhorst at 14.30

  • from De Havixhorst to MyHotel in Meppel at 01.00

Note that getting a taxi, especially at night, isn't very easy on the Dutch countryside. If you sleep somewhere else than at De Havixhorst or MyHotel, make sure to bike (very Dutch!) to De Havixhorst or arrange a pre-booked taxi. We can help out if need be. 

Dress code

The dress code is formal wedding attire.

Presents

For us it is more than enough that you want to spend the weekend with us, which we realize comes with personal expenses. So we therefore wish for no gifts (truly & honestly)!

Kids

We love your kids, but for this occasion they will have to stay at home!
