Our Story

It all started in an elevator on a Monday morning at a conference site in Amsterdam. We were both taking part  in a Deloitte consulting 101 training for newly started consultants. Jessica had gotten back from holiday & New Year's celebrations in Australia just two days earlier and was jetlagged to silence, but Martijn tried his best in getting her attention. Months later, Jessica will describe her first impression of Martijn as someone tall with good looking eyebrows.

The training week passes with lots of flirting and Dutch dance moves, and then a period of Facetime dating starts. After only a month or so, Jessica invites Martijn for a date weekend in Stockholm. Luckily the 48 hour long date went great, and the rest is history as they say.

After about a year of long distance dating, Martijn finally moved to Stockholm in February 2017. The years pass, first focusing on a DINK life and the last couple of years on starting a family with the birth of Vera (April 2021) and Frank (December 2023).

The question was popped by Martijn in December 2024, during a date night in the Netherlands which was spent at De Havixhorst where now the wedding party will also take place.
